Background

Test Valley is a local government district and borough in Hampshire with its council based in Andover.

Challenge

The existing CCTV system was producing poor quality images along with the current wireless infrastructure beginning to break down due to lack of maintenance, a full upgrade was required.

Solution

Firstly, DSSL completed a custom proposal. With our project manager confirming the final pieces of the design and putting together an accurate implementation plan and network schematic, we were ready to begin.

DSSL Group designed a solution using the market-leading Genetec security centre as the chosen VMS. To ensure that the design could be integrated into Test Valley’s current IT network DSSL organised a meeting with the council’s IT department and Genetec’s post-sales technical engineer.

95 HD CCTV cameras were installed alongside 2 Genetec archivers, 1 Genetec directory, and 64 wireless radios. Multiple VLANs were also used to ensure the network was secure and compatible with the IT infrastructure.

The system is conveniently viewable from 4 different sites. Test Valley Council offices, Andover Police Station, Romsey Police Station and the Chantry Shopping Centre.
